David Glasson Planning Limited have been commissioned by Midpoint Property to undertake a pre-application consultation in respect of proposed development at the Stuffed Dormouse, Ponthir Road, Caerleon NP18 3NY
We give notice that Midpoint Property is intending to apply for full planning permission for the proposed change of use, extension and alteration of restaurant building (the former Stuffed Dormouse now El Gordo’s Seafood & Grill) to 10 apartments and construction of 3 no. townhouses in the car-park along with car parking for all residents and visitors.
The proposed scheme is closely based on a previous proposal which was supported by Newport City Council but was withdrawn in 2015 so never progressed but which also proposed converting the building (then known as the Roman Lodge Hotel) to 10 apartments and three dwellings in the car-park opposite.
Prior to formal submission to the Local Planning Authority (Newport City Council) and in accordance with the requirements set out in Part 1A of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012 (as amended), the proposal will be subject to pre-application consultation.
All relevant draft drawings, reports and application documents are made available for inspection and review online below.
